  2. axle connected to a larger wheel with another
  3. rope attached to its rim. Pulling on the
  4. wheel rope (applying an effort) lifts a load
  5. attached to the axle rope. The velocity ratio
  6. of the machine (distance moved by load
  7. divided by distance moved by effort) is equal
  8. to the ratio of the wheel radius to the axle
  9. radius.
